Our Founder's Story

Agape & Harmony Enrichment Center was founded by two dedicated educators, Lakeisha and Brandi, who share a deep passion for supporting children and families within their community. Their journey began long before the idea of opening a center—it began through years of service, education, and a shared calling to make a difference in the lives of children.

 

Lakeisha brings over 10 years of experience in the mental health field, along with a strong foundation in education and child development. She earned her degree from North Carolina Central University and has spent years working closely with children and families who need additional emotional, behavioral, and academic support. Her passion for helping others was shaped early in life as she watched her mother lovingly care for her own client. Witnessing that compassion and dedication inspired Lakeisha to carry that same spirit of care into her own work and ultimately into her community.

 

Brandi brings four years of experience in the mental health field and shares the same heart for supporting children with diverse needs. She graduated from North Carolina A&T State University and has dedicated her career to working with children as an Exceptional Children (EC) teacher. Brandi grew up in a home filled with love, encouragement, and strong support, and those experiences shaped her desire to create that same nurturing environment for other children.

 

As Exceptional Children educators, both Lakeisha and Brandi have spent years working directly with children who need individualized attention, patience, and understanding. Through their experiences in education and mental health, they repeatedly saw the need for more supportive environments for children outside of the classroom—especially for families seeking programs that truly understand their child’s unique needs.

 

Together, they created Agape & Harmony Enrichment Center as a reflection of the values that shaped their lives: love, balance, compassion, and community. Their vision is to provide a safe, nurturing space where children feel seen, supported, and empowered to grow at their own pace.

 

For Lakeisha and Brandi, Agape & Harmony is more than a center—it is a way of pouring the love and support they received growing up back into the lives of children and families in their community. Through intentional care, meaningful relationships, and a commitment to every child’s potential, they hope to create a place where children can truly thrive.
